At first glance, which is “healthier”? Blueberry muffin or strawberry glazed donut with sprinkles?
🍩⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How many times have you thought
“really want the “X” but I’m going to go for the “healthier option”.
🍩⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For me-I used to constantly!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Before I learned to look at the macros of foods, I ALWAYS thought muffins were the “healthier” options,
just like I thought salads at restaurants were the “healthier” option when in reality-they’re packed with sneaky fats in the toppings and dressings.
🍩⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
**But take a look at the calorie differences and more importantly, the carb and SUGAR differences.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Let’s take back the meaning of “healthy” because society likes to demonize certain foods while glorifying others without discussing the nutrition behind them, which leaves you gaining weight while eating foods you don’t even want 🙅♀️**
🍩⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is why I loveee the 80/20 rule.
This is why I loveeee flexible dieting, because if you’re craving something-you HAVE it and then move on with actual healthy choices the rest of the day like fruits, veggies, proteins and healthy fats for a balanced intake!
🍩⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Moral of the story:
you’ll be much healthier and happier if you don’t restrict certain foods/food groups and it’s important to look at the macros & nutrients in your food for understanding it 🤗

*reposting this from last year bc it’s so relevant!*
PS I’m not saying eat a donut everyday lol
