How flexible dieting changed my entire life, by what it taught me:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✨That I didn’t need to eat minimally, or starve myself to see results. I am not a small person. This one was huge for me.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✨That foods such as donuts and cookies are just carbs and fats- that’s it. And if I want to have them, all I have to do is adjust my carbs and fats that day. No weird guilt, no “all or nothing” mindset. Legit just data. 2nd huge one for me.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✨That I should look into the foods that I eat-how do they make me feel? Am I getting enough fiber? How is my digestive tract? (Aka figuring out bloating & feeling tired). Gut health is insanely important and something I still work on daily.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✨That I don’t have to fear going out to eat w/friends & family because food is just a combination of fats, carbs and protein. Adjusting your daily portions is all we have to do. It’s 👏🏻 just 👏🏻 data. Don’t tie emotions to it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✨Taught me to be self reliant. I didn’t have to follow a “meal plan”. I could eat the things I wanted, make a mental note of the serving size and learn from it. That I never have to go on another diet again for the rest of my life.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✨That, I can lose weight, maintain it or grow in accordance w/my goals. Want to lean down a bit? Adjust accordingly. Want to hit a maintenance area and just cruise? Adjust accordingly. Want to take your training up a notch and feel strong AF? Adjust accordingly. Your results rely on your daily decisions.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✨That food is fuel, that counting macros does NOT have to be forever but will 100% set you up for success if done c-o-r-r-e-c-t-l-y 🙏
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✨Can it be restrictive/obsessive/detrimental? Well, yeah. But if you take it for what it is-which is a LEARNING TOOL to educate you about the nutrition in different foods and how your body fluctuates with them, then it will completely change your life 🤩
