Up until 2017, I wore a hoodie around my waist every single time I went to the gym.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I wore those loose shorts bc I was uncomfortable with the way my legs looked in leggings or anything tight at all. And a crop top? Haallllll no 😬
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I felt goofy & awkward & never wanted to go in the “men’s” area with the free weights and the machines so I kept myself small.
I kept myself “safe”.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But I kept myself stuck. I made ZERO progress for years (also due to inefficient nutrition knowledge)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Do you feel this way too? Let a 🙋🏼♀️ below of you do!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After years of practice & practice & research on YouTube & @bodybuilding.com & learning from coaches that I paid for to help me- I made the leap.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I walked into that room, kept my head down & got to work. Every single time pushing myself to try a new machine or a new movement & allow myself to be a beginner.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Did I make mistakes & embarrass myself?
Hell yes 🤦🏼♀️ & I still do!
You shoulda seen me on the GHD machine a few weeks ago 😅
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Truth is-no one cares what we’re doing! Everyone is there to get better & once we accept that then it becomes MUCH less intimidating.
Leave your ego at the door.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sometimes I try to smile, although most of the time I have RBF 😜 but every single time I’m determined to do better.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
No one ever got better by keeping themselves small. Grow those wings babe. 🦋
