Plain and simple.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Carbohydrates break down into glucose in our blood. Excess is stored in our muscles as glycogen.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When we are active (OTF, F45, weight lifting, powerlifting, spin classes, cardio classes, etc)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Our body uses our circulating and stored energy (glucose/glycogen).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you’re “low carb”, you keep depleting your body’s source of energy without replenishing it,
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Aka making your body weaker!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s extremely important to refuel those sources to adequately allow your muscles to recover.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Feeling extremely exhausted constantly from exercise is NOT normal. Yes I feel like jello after my workouts but it doesn’t last the entire week, with proper fueling your body repairs itself.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Moral of the story: track and eat your carbs and your body will thank you 🍎🍌🍓🍑🍍🥑🥦🥒🌶🌽🥕🥔🍠🥐🥯🍞🥖🥞🧇
