And while I DEF understand that there is a time for being in a calorie deficit & that people DO need for people to be in one during the different seasons their life, we should be spending the majority of our year at maintenance calories/macros.

“Well why would we track if were at maintenance?”-great question!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you’re constantly dieting, you have ABSOLUTELY no idea how your body feels when it’s properly fueled, meaning if you try to “intuitively eat” your hunger levels will be all whack due to dieting for years.

Tracking at maintenance not only lets you understand what you SHOULD be taking in, it’s also a great time to work on muscle building.

Although it is slower than building in a calorie surplus, the amount of change your body will go through while tracking at maintenance for an extended period of time & working through progressive overload with your lifts is incredible.

Lastly, in order to successfully lose weight more efficiently, staying in maintenance the majority of the year sets your hormones up for success to ALLOW for a weight loss phase.
