“Cait, I don’t know how to enter things in from the restaurants that I went to this weekend”
THIS is one of the best parts of having a macro-based coach because the meals that we aren’t sure how to enter into MFP (aka the meals that we don’t cook ourselves)
-are the meals that add up like crazyyyyy in fats and overall calories.
How many times do you say “but I tracked Mon-Fri every week for the past month and I’m not seeing results”?
It’s typically because yes,
you were in a calorie deficit Mon-Fri and then the meals out that you didn’t know how to track
😜and the alcohol calories added up so much that it took you back OUT of your calorie deficit for the week-keeping you in an awful cycle of low cals during the week & super high calories over the weekend.
As you get more familiar with tracking, estimating your calories at restaurants or at family events WILL get easier-we just have to keep up with the consistency of attempting to enter things into MFP when going out to eat.
This also is a HUGEEE eye opener for why we might not be making progress. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Swipe to see an example of getting a
🍔cheeseburger & sweet potato fries
(1300 cals, 68g fat, 120g carb, 47g protein) at a restaurant
🍺and then swipe again to see how having 3-4 drinks can add up (300-400 extra calories easily).
(Typically, many people eat out multiple times over the weekend-not just once which is where the calories bring us out of a deficit)
This is NOT to “shame” anyone into never going out to eat again but quite the opposite-the FIRST step in seeing physical progress is simply being aware of our intake & taking accountability for what we’re choosing!
🔥We can always make tweaks to our meals when out to keep total calories capped but still enjoy it.
