Client case study: down 21 lbs so far-how did we do it? “Diet break” edition
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you saw my last case study last Monday (go check it out if not!), we talked about how THAT client did 12 weeks in a calorie deficit then 12 weeks of a reverse diet and maintenance calories to give her hormones a break before diving into a second calorie deficit (shes officially down 30lbs now so far!)

With THIS client here, her journey is a bit different. EVERY SINGLE client is unique so if you go to a coach that gives you a cookie cutter meal plan & doesn’t modify things to you then beware. (Meal plans should be burned anyways 🔥🙅🏼♀️)

This client started out in a deficit & I adjusted macros accordingly for about 8-9 weeks until her body was starting to give her clues that we should take a break from the deficit (random cravings she never had before, really tired, etc).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We took a 7 day diet break, raising her calories back up to maintenance to replenish her hormones, satiate her cravings, take a bit of time out of a deficit, & help with her lifts.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Some diet breaks can last as long as 7-21 days.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Afterwards, I recalculated her macros adjusting for her initial weight loss and she’s lost another 6 lbs since then,
🥳21 lbs total so far!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
She’s very open with me about how her weeks go (new mom, works full time, is a wife/daughter/friend, exercises etc-shes BUSY) & we adjust.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I work WITH my clients to utilize different techniques & evidence-based research to accommodate for their lifestyle.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Weight loss/macros are NOT black/white, it needs to be adjusted as your body changes & goals change so having a coach to walk you through this is crucial for continued weight loss and ultimately reaching your goal 🥰
