The deets you want about carb cycling!
As with calorie cycling, carb cycling can help clients for a few different reasons. This differs from calorie cycling as only ONE macro changes, the others stay the same.
Carb cycling can be a great way to replenish glycogen stores if lifting a few times per week in the gym.
—Carbohydrates are broken down into glucose in the blood and stored in muscles as glycogen. When we exercise, the glycogen is pulled from the muscles for energy thus needs replenishment).
You could do:
-1 high carb day (HCD)/6 lower carb day (LCD)
or any combination that works for YOU and your schedule!
Take your total daily carbs, multiply them by 7 to get your total weekly allotments and then disperse as necessary throughout the week.
****also just like yesterday-if you aren’t consistent at ONE set of macros every week, I don’t recommend changing your carbs around & making it more complicated than necessary.
