This comes from ANY carbohydrates- crackers and apples are BOTH forms of sugar!
This sugar is used for energy by the body’s cells:
“cells throughout the body depend on glucose for energy to drive chemical processes. Although most cells CAN also burn fat for energy, the body needs some glucose to burn fat efficiently.
Glucose (another word for sugar) is the primary fuel for most cells and the PREFERRED fuel for the brain, red blood cells & nervous system.
In the absence of carbs, both proteins & fats can be used for energy (although brain cells & developing red blood cells require glucose).
If carbs are depleted the body will break down proteins FIRST (MUCH easier than fats) to make glucose (a process called gluconeogensis) to provide energy.”

That breakdown of body proteins is NOT BENEFICIAL for weight loss because the higher our lean-body mass, the higher our metabolism (which burns more calories ♻️)
Carbs = sugars (simple & complex!)
Sugars = energy for daily life processes.
***NOTE, we should be filling MOST of our carb macros with nutrient dense/fiber rich foods but that doesn’t mean that you can’t also fit in something like these buns a little bit & still hit your targets 👌🏻
