But wait- aren’t açaí bowls, smoothies and avocado toast healthy?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here’s the thing lovies, those meals contain some healthy ingredients…but also contain LOTS of fats and/or sugars. Good fats? Some may argue that, but if you’re taking in too many fats (regardless of if they’re the good kind) you will be in a caloric surplus (= no weight loss).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is why understanding what’s IN your food is more important than allowing society to market to you what is “healthy” so they can slap an $11 price tag on TOAST 🙃
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sometimes the amount of fat in avocado toast at restaurants is more than 1/2 days worth of fats 😳
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Similarly, smoothies (when bought at restaurants) can be LOADEDDDD with sugars/carbs.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Healthy eating is not only about the food you eat in a single meal-it’s in relation to your day as a whole. THIS is where I think most people disconnect, because they see their fav fitspo eating something boujee but don’t see the protein shake or egg white omelet they had earlier.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
IT’S ABOUT BALANCE. Capisce?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Next time you’re about to choose the “healthier” option, take a look at the macronutrients (fats, carbs and proteins) so you can balance them throughout the rest of your day too to help with weight loss.

I’m not much of a smoothie gal- are you?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
